The Japan Malaysia Technical Institute (JMTI) was collaboratively established by the governments of Malaysia and Japan on 7 October 1997. The institute started its operation in 1998 at its temporary campus, CIAST Shah Alam. Stince January 2000, JMTI has been conducting training at at its permanent campus, which has been developed on 6.5 hectares of land at the Bukit Minyak Industrial Park, Seberang Prai Tengah, Penang.
The institute’s main objective is to generate quality skilled workers
through the skilled training programmes at the higher level to
cater to the industries needs in Malaysia and prepares students tor the challenge of technology’s rapid advancement.
JMTI offers Diploma in Engineering Technology in four main fields of study - 1) Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology, 2) Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology, 3) Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering Technology, and 4) Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
