UN urges action to help disabled women, children in East Timor

A United Nations report released this week says East Timorese women and children with mental disabilities are at high risk from serious human rights violations. The report by the UN mission in East Timor praised the government for taking positive steps to help people with disabilities, but said more urgent action is needed to prevent discrimination and gender-based violence.
