Issues and Challenges
Pakistan is facing multiple challenges on the front of skills development. Characterizing these challenges is the low technical vocational competence and productivity of its workforce, coupled with the inability of Pakistan’s existing TVET system to produce highly skilled and adaptable human resources capable of responding to the fast changing needs of the globalized economy. Recent data indicates that the unemployment rate in Pakistan has reached nearly 18 percent.
